BATTING

You ought to develop the right attitude in the nets and practice correctly .i.e. not playing loose shots, not playing too many big shots, not choosing a shot(always big) before the bowler has bowled.
You ought to develop a pride in not being dismissed(the main aim of batting).
The older and more experience the more instinctive our batting is.
We don’t make conscious decisions: our instincts dictate(e.g.) whether we play front foot or back foot, or whether we defend or attack.  Our instincts are based on learned behaviour.

If we practice properly in the nets and bat properly in matches our instincts will develop accordingly.
If you play loose shots in practice you will do so in matches( when you don’t really want to).  You must remember when a team mate is out playing a silly shot and his first words are, “what made me do  that?” you can now tell him!
